CLARIDGE'S was the hotel site of Queen Elizabeth’s 60th birthday, and a home away from home for many other members of the royal family - insiders literally refer to Claridge’s as the “annex of Buckingham Palace.” The hotel marks the coronation through the Claridge’s Coronation Archive Windows - a curated collection of treasures that celebrate memorable royal moments from the hotel’s archive on display for all to enjoy. TEATIME the tradition of tea drinking began in England in the 1660s by King Charles II and his wife Catherine de Braganza. But it was in 1840 when teatime found its own time slot of the day when lamp lighting became available, and dinner could be pushed to a later time. Anna Russell, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, just couldn’t wait until then and she began around 4PM to take an afternoon snack of tea, cake, bread and butter - eventually inviting friends to the join her, hence teatime was born - a true London Calling tradition that carries on.

Hatters, luxury shoes & boots - John Lobb Bootmaker on St James Street, Paxton & Whitfield - London’s oldest cheese shop, and Floris perfumery in its 9th generation.

FORTNUM & MASON uber-British shop of gourmet foods & specialty items has introduced their Fortnum’s Coronation Collection taking inspiration from the iconography of royal pageants and ceremonies through the centuries. With items such as their Organic Darjeeling "Hailing from the misty Himalayan foothills, the historic home of the white Egret which decorates this caddy, Darjeeling is known as ‘the Champagne of teas’ for its elegant complexity & muscatel character"
