Bermuda

"Where the remote Bermudas ride - in th’ ocean’s bosom unespy’d,

From a small boat, that row’d along - the list’ning winds receiv’d this song."

Bermudas poem by Andrew Marvell

Bermuda

Just a 90-minute escape from New York to pink sand horizons and curative sun of Bermuda, a semi-tropical paradise exuding British charm and a sensational colour palette of turquoise, pink perfection and rows of brightly painted homes in yellows, greens and purples. This is not the Caribbean, its Hamptons meets Miami with a British twist. Visit in late autumn - the sapphire blue water is still mild, the threat for hurricanes is low, and the tourists are few and far between in late October and November. Sip a "Dark and Stormy" cocktail - tribute to the island’s signature ginger beer and rum and behold the vibrant colours of beach and sky. Take a walk through one of the Bermuda Moongates - a symbol for Bermuda itself as is a talisman for romance. Legend has it that a sea captain brought the first Moongate over from a Chinese garden in 1860, you will find many of these gateways throughout Bermuda and be sure to stop and smell the flowers along the way - oleander, hibiscus and frangipani in every shade of pink you can possibly imagine. This tiny island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean celebrates all the best of life - culture, cuisine, nature, romance, where people come for sun, sea and serenity.
